German Shepherd - Traditional straight back working line
The German Shepherd (Deutscher Schäferhund) is a medium to large-sized breed originating in Germany for herding. Despite its wolf-like appearance, it is a relatively modern breed of dog, with origins dating to 1899. The breed was officially known as the "Alsatian Wolf Dog" in the UK from after the First World War until 1977 when its name was changed to “German Shepherd”.
Since then, the breed has been utilised for their strength, intelligence, trainability, and obedience. They are excellent family pets, highly regarded protection and guard dogs, and they excel in dog sports (including obedience, agility and protection work). They are loyal and loving family dogs when you want them to be and natural defenders of the home when you need them to be.
Both dam and sire are pedigree papered traditional straight back working line German Shepherds. They have solid / balanced temperaments and come from lines with no history of hip dysplasia or back issues. Dam (Mum) is black and tan, Sire (Dad) is patterned sable.
Our dogs play fetch and frisbee, walk and run with us, or can just chill with us in front of the TV. Neither are excessive barkers and they do not have anxiety issues. Both dogs are great with people from children to the elderly. They have been easy to train – we can literally do anything and go anywhere with them!
