By completion of this course the student will know basic Foster Care duties and responsibilities, what to look for in a rescue group and how to find a reputable rescue group, emergency first aid, handling grooming and disaster management, cleanliness and hygiene, common diseases and their prevention, nutrition and feeding, Zoonotic diseases, ethics and legislation, networking and support groups, deciding what type of dog would most suit their lifestyle. They will also learn issues relating to assessment and training, preventing burnout and the importance of record keeping.
