Wattleview Cobberdogs

We breed healthy and true to type Australian Cobberdogs, with the hope of producing well rounded family and therapy dog prospects, all whilst also improving the breed.

About Us

The Australian Cobberdog

Our names are Josh and Brooke. We joined the Australian Cobberdog community in 2021 and have 10 years experience in dog breeding.

We are a small, family based breeder of the Australian Cobberdog, located between Goulburn, NSW and Canberra, ACT on 125 acres.

We raise our dogs in line with Badass Breeder (BAB) and Puppy Culture principles and ensure our puppies are as healthy as can be by undertaking extensive health testing.

We selectively breed for health and temperament and pride ourselves on the quality of our dogs and their puppies.

What makes Wattleview different?

We are committed to our Australian Cobberdog puppies and their families

At Wattleview, we are deeply committed to the health and wellbeing of our dogs and their offspring. We work hard to ensure we raise happy and healthy Australian Cobberdogs and carry out comprehensive health testing of all breeding dogs. This ensures we are only breeding from the healthiest dogs of the highest quality. We guarantee all our puppies against a list of hereditary diseases.

We raise all our puppies in our home environment. We are with their mothers every step of the way to ensure safe delivery and a relaxing environment to raise puppies. We let mother nature take control and aren’t far away if we are needed.

Our puppies are always under 24-hour surveillance in a climate-controlled environment. We monitor puppies growth daily and follow  Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) practices from three days of age.

We also follow Puppy Culture and Badass Breeder practices and curriculum to ensure our puppies leave us confident and ready for their new homes. We expose our puppies to age-appropriate experiences and activities during weeks three to eight, ensuring we maximise their cognitive and physical development. At around seven weeks of age we “temperament test” our puppies. This involves running each puppy through a series of deliberate and calculated exercises.

We assess their response to tasks as well as their body language and other cues. We combine this information to determine certain qualities and traits. This, alongside our monitoring of their behaviours day to day, allows us to better determine their most suitable homes and helps us in ensuring an appropriate match with their waiting forever family. We endeavour to ensure our puppies leave us empowered and that their needs are honoured in their placements.

We aim to breed Australian Cobberdog puppies that are calm and intuitive. We want our puppies to be suited to any environment including the possibility of becoming a service or therapy dog.

Our breeding Cobberdogs also form part of our family. They enjoy the wide, open spaces of our property and we welcome them inside our home too. They come with us to the beach, on holidays and anywhere within the local community that they are allowed. There is usually a Cobber (or three) on the bed and the lounges are for the dogs first.

Our Wattleview Puppies

We have purposely designed our breeding program to improve the health and temperament of future generations of the Australian Cobberdog.

As Australian Cobberdog breeders, we enjoy sharing the endless love dogs bring to their families and have chosen this breed for their warmth, sustained eye contact and intuition.

We endeavour to match our puppies go to the right home and will use the information you provide us, to determine the suitability of the puppies we have available.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to raise this delightful boy. Not an outing goes by where I don’t get stopped by strangers; everyone just wants to pat him and comment on his temperament and gentleness. They all comment on his eyes and how calm they feel around him.

Huxley is only 4 months old but an old soul at heart and you can see the human-like qualities coming out in him more and more each day. Huxley and I have definitely bonded the most, but he is also very aware of the people in his world and will calmly sit next to someone just when they seem to need him the most, it is truly amazing to watch and be a part of. Huxley is a very loved member of our family and can’t wait to watch him grow and see more of his amazing traits blossom.

We could tell immediately how well Brooke and Josh from Wattleview raised him. The love, care, attention and thought that goes behind everything that they do for all the puppies shows. From the very start, Brooke and Josh have been easy to approach, answered all questions without hesitation, and provided advice when needed. It is evident that they only want to best for the puppies.

Wattleview has set us up for success with their information book and puppy pack, and as such Huxley has fitted into our family of 7 humans and 2 other dogs with no problems at all. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with them and I would not hesitate in recommending Wattleview to anyone looking for a Cobberdog.
